About the Author
Chris Rossbach was born in Germany in 1959 and first came to the United States in 1976 as a Rotary exchange student. Forty years later, in 2016, he became an American citizen. His immigration officer’s first question—“What took you so long?”—captured the humor and heart of his long journey.
Chris’s joie de vivre was shaped by a lifetime of unusual and unforgettable experiences: meeting a slave in Morocco, sleeping alone atop Half Dome in Yosemite, being strip‑searched by machine‑gun‑toting Romanian communists, and hiking the 500‑mile Camino de Santiago across northern Spain. Yet none of these adventures compare to the joy he found twenty years ago when he became a Christian.
A pediatric cancer doctor for more than two decades, Chris has served, lectured, and published in the Tampa Bay area for 23 years. His medical training spans the globe, including Hannover (Germany), Yale (Connecticut), Mt. Sinai (New York), Baltimore (Maryland), and Seattle (Washington), where he completed his fellowship in pediatric hematology/oncology and bone marrow transplantation.
